TCAF is almost here! The weekend of August 18 & 19, the University of Toronto campus becomes the playground of the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. A bi-annual event featuring the best in North American and international comic book artists, the festival is sponsored and organized by The Beguiling. And somehow, Evan Munday, creator of The Amazing Challengers of Unknown Mystery, snuck into the guest list. Evan will be stationed at a table in Old Victoria College (93 Charles St. West) with fellow members of SketchKrieg!, Arthur Dela Cruz, Jason Loo, Alana McCarthy, Tyrone McCarthy and Zen Rankin. He will most likely be showing off the third stellar issue in the exploits of Waterloo's greatest superheroes (it's currently at the printers). Also in attendance are amazing comics creators like Darwyn Cooke, Evan Dorkin (a talented Evan), Bryan Lee O'Malley and more. And yet, they list Evan beside them, as if they were equals! The Toronto Comic Arts Festival happens August 18 and 19, at Old Victoria College (93 Charles St. West) on the University of Toronto campus. Visit the TCAF website for all the latest details and updates on guests, panels, workshops and much more. FanExpo hot on TCAF's heels! Evan will also be attending this summer's FanExpo, running August 24 – 26 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Catering to a slightly different crowd, the FanExpo will feature thousands of cosplay kids, horror fans and folks selling authentic weapons (if past conventions are any indication). Expect to see legendary actors and filmmakers like Adam West, Malcolm McDowell, George A. Romero and Commander William T. Riker! Also in attendance, Evan Munday comic favourites, John Romita Sr. and Jr., and Chris Sprouse. Be there or be resolutely not square.

Issue 3 Nightmare on Albert Street Issue 3 of The Amazing Challengers of Unknown Mystery: "Nightmare on Albert Street " is at the printers and should be available at the Toronto summer comic festivals. Expect to find it at the usual places soon after. It's like Waiting for Godot meets The Fantastic Four meets Crash (the Cronenberg version) when the Amazing Challengers spend the entire issue in a futile attempt to cross the road. You can check out a five-page preview right here.
